Thomas Caiazza is a research technician in the EIPM organoid lab. He’s part of a team of technicians that process tissue into organoids and maintain them — routinely splitting and nourishing them. His duties also include running DNA tests for mycoplasma testing and DNA screening, making cell culture media and data entry.

He is a graduate of Brooklyn College, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology. Thomas has lived in Queens, New York his entire life after being born at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan, about three blocks from where he currently works in the Belfer Research Building. In his free time Thomas enjoys reading fantasy novels, he also writes short stories on his commute into the city. Thomas is an Eagle Scout, and for his Eagle project he collected used eyeglasses from three local churches in his neighborhood and donated them to less fortunate people in Guatemala.
