Wayne Tam, M.D., Ph.D., received his undergraduate education at The Johns Hopkins University with honors and subsequently graduated from the Cornell-Rockefeller-Memorial Sloan-Kettering Tri-Institutional combined M.D. and Ph.D. program.
Dr. Tam was then recruited to the pathology residency training program here at NewYork Presbyterian Hospital-Cornell Medical Center. After his residency training in anatomic pathology, he completed a hematopathology fellowship at Cornell and served as a Leukemia and Lymphoma Society research fellow in the Institute of Cancer Genetics, Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, under the tutelage of Dr. Riccardo Dalla-Favera.
Dr. Tam was appointed as Instructor in Pathology in February 2001 and subsequently promoted to Assistant Professor in July 2002. Dr. Tam’s clinical responsibilities are concentrated in hematopathology while he pursues his translational research program in hematopoietic malignancies.
