Our symposium, funded by Cornell's Office of Academic Integrationaims to create a broader awareness of AI advances at Cornell, and promote and strengthen collaborations. We anticipate that 100+ Cornell faculty and staff members will join the two-day event to bridge the strengths in Ithaca with the clinical and technological environment in New York City.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The AI symposium will feature works by trainees, including graduate students, postdoctoral associates and junior investigators in any department at Cornell affiliated institutions and communities.

  • One abstract submission per first author.

  • Abstracts on original research may be focused on any topic relevant to the Artificial Intelligence for Basic Research in Medicine and the Life Sciences and include, but are not limited to:  

    • AI for Chemistry / AI for Chemical Engineering

    • AI for Genes and Proteins

    • AI for Neuroscience / Neural Network & Models

    • AI for Materials

    • AI for Decisions in Clinical Practice, Population-Health, and Healthcare Operation

  • One of the authors must commit to being present on Monday, June 1, 2026 to present the work.

  • Accepted abstracts will be asked to have a poster printed. Select abstract authors will be invited to present a short (<10 minute) lightening talk on Monday, June 1, 2026 at ~4pm in the Belfer Research Building.

  • We encourage you to submit abstracts for either oral or poster presentation for projects at any stage - early, in-progress, and completed. 

  • Abstracts should be limited to a maximum of 2,500 characters.
