| Abstract | Carbohydrate-rich diets have been consistently associated with detrimental effects for human health, including diabetes and obesity. Moreover, high glucose levels appear to mediate immunosuppressive effects in preclinical tumor models. Recent data from Ferrere and colleagues point to the intriguing possibility that carbotoxicity may originate from the abolition of ketosis. |
